Abduction Attempt

Police say a 7-year-old Sioux Falls boy did the right thing on Tuesday when a man reportedly tried to get him into his car.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says it happened late Tuesday morning in the 300 block of East Pinehurst Drive when, the boy says, a man drove up to him in a red 4-door Honda-type car and asked him to get in, stating he had tickets to the circus.

Clemens says the only description of the man is that he was African-American, and he says anyone with information or who sees a vehicle matching the description should contact police or Crimestoppers at 367-7007.

Clemens says the 7-year-old boy did an excellent job in not approaching the man and in telling his mother what had happened.
