Rep. Herseth Sandlin to speak at WiMAX event

Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin will be the featured speaker at the upcoming Sioux Valley WiMAX official launch on Tuesday, July 1 at the Madison Library Park. The public is invited to take part in the celebration with a complimentary lunch starting at noon. The program will begin at 12:15 p.m. WiMAX demonstrations will run from 12:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sioux Valley Wireless, a subsidiary of Sioux Valley Energy, is now offering WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) services to residents of Madison, S.D. and the surrounding area.

WiMAX essentially allows customers to use the Internet throughout the area at any time without plugging into a connection, signing into a specific access point or needing a hot-spot to access the Internet.
