Soybean aphids beginning to appear

Soybean aphids are showing up in South Dakota State University test plots, meaning producers should start scouting.

SDSU Extension Soybean Research Entomologist Kelley Tilmon said her program found the first soybean aphids of the season on June 20 in a research plot in Brookings.

Tilmon's program has been intensively scouting for aphids for several weeks; the single aphid found after several hours of searching means aphid numbers are still very low.
