Governor Asks For Half Staff Flags To Honor Fallen Soldier

Gov. Mike Rounds is asking that all flags in the state be flown at half staff tomorrow from 8 a.m. until sunset in honor of Spec. Estell Turner, 43, of Sioux Falls, S.D., who died Wednesday, July 2, at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.
Turner was a motor transport operator assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He died of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device on June 28 in Malikheyl, Afghanistan.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. (EDT) on Friday, July 11, at Watts Funeral Home in Jackson, Ky., with burial and full military honors at 3 p.m. (EDT) at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Ky.
