Chamber of Commerce Hands Out Education Awards

The Madison Chamber Of Commerce held it's annual Educator's Reception at Nicky's last night. Over 150 were in attendance as the Chamber named it's Outstanding Educator and Friend of Education awards.
This year's Outstanding Educator award was given to Holly Renken, an 8th grade Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies teacher, Renken is also the 8th grade Team Leader. Renken also serves as an adviser for cheerleading, oral interp, and the year book.
The Chamber's Friend of Education Award is given annually to recognize a community member or organization that has made significant contribution to education in Madison. The award was given this year to Beth Knuths. Knuths, who has served as the children's librarian for the Madison Public Library, was honored for her work on the Madison Arts Council, for initiation and Art Masterpiece Program at the elementary school, and for her time volunteering in the classroom every four weeks teaching about artwork. Knuths has also served as a substitute teacher.
