United Way and Red Cross Anounce Fund Raising Results
Posted on Thursday, August 28, 2008
The numbers are in from the Interlakes Area United Way raffle. This year the United Way sold $8,295 worth of raffle tickets for a new Club Cadet Zero Turn Lawn Tractor. The tractor was donated by Lake County International in Madison. The raffle drawing was held during the Dakota Ethanol Golf Tournament earlier this month. Bob Hare of Lake Madison was the lucky winner.
Dakota Ethanol, LLC matched the total money raised by the raffle, and donated that as well as the proceeds of the golf tournament to the Interlakes Area United Way.
That pushed the total amount raised for the raffle to $19,128.
The raffle and golf tournament is the start of the 2009 Campaign for the United Way. The kickoff for that campaign will be held September 27th in the Montgomery's parking lot after the DSU Homecoming parade.
The Interlakes Area United Way has already received $130,000 in requests for the 2009 year.
In other fund raising news, the Lake-Kingsbury Chapter of the American Red Cross raised over $6,000 this year from it's annual raffle and golf tournament.
