Madison Commissioners Approve $5.3 Million Loan

The Madison City Commissioners acknowledged a letter from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources approving the cities Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan in the amount of $5.3 million at an interest rate of 3.25-percent. A bond resolution was also approved. Bid letting is expected to take place in November. The last upgrade of the plant was 20 years ago and cost the city approximately $4 million.

Also heard at the meeting was a second reading on the ordinance to prohibit parking on the north side of 9th street from Prairie Avenue to Roosevelt from 7:30 AM to 4PM. The second reading was approved.

The Madison City Commissioners meet next on Monday October 15th at 5:30 PM at Madison City Hall.
