Wells Fargo Insurance is Leaving Madison

Wells Fargo is pulling at least a part of its insurance business operation out of South Dakota. According to a release, personal lines and small business insurance customers will be served by Wells Fargo Insurance Center in Minneapolis beginning December 15th. A number of Wells Fargo Insurance Service agent positions in Madison, Brookings, Watertown, Aberdeen and Sioux Falls have been consolidated. The release says some employees may be offered positions in other parts of Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo Insurance Services commercial banking customers who require commercial and employee benefits insurance products will continue to be served through an agent based in Watertown.

Crop insurance business and policies have been assigned to the South Dakota Crop insurance specialist.
