Building Needs Have Changed

Madison School Superintendent Vince Schaefer says the school district is at the very beginning of evaluating the High School building and its needs.
The school board recently received a report from a Sioux City architectural firm which pointed out several areas that need attention in and around the 43-year-old building.
Schaefer says the needs of schools have changed since the building was built, including the need for the schools to be handicap accessible.
He says his first step after the report is to get the District's Buildings and Grounds Committee together.
The architects say a lot of things need attention on the building but drainage, the roof and fire code issues are the most important.
