Schaefer Property Rezoned

The Madison City Commission listened to a rezoning proposal for property owned by Randy Schaefer in the Tax Increment Financing district on the south side of Madison and then approved it. Commissioner Dick Ericsson did not vote because he says he shares relatives with Schaefer and doesn't want even an appearance of a conflict of interest. The approved ordinance changes the zoning from a residential zone to neighborhood business. It does not include the property in the proposed housing development.
