City Says Use Less Electricity

The City of Madison is not under an energy alert, but Madison City officials are encouraging electric utility customers to use electricity wisely.
City Commissioner Dan Bohl says it's important for customers to conserve in order to keep the city from reaching a new peak demand.
He says common sense will go a long way and in the winter, using some appliances on a warmer day.
Bohl says if Madison reaches a new record peak demand, the cost of the electric power the city buys will go up and lead to another increase in electric utility bills.
