Joint Jurisdictional Zoning...Maybe Later

1st District Planning Executive Director Todd Kays says discussion of joint zoning in areas outside but near the Madison city limits is beyond the scope of work for the update of the Madison zoning ordinance, but it could come up in the course of the various meetings.

Kays says the Madison zoning ordinance needs to be cleaned up and made more readable and usable first, before a joint jurisdictional zoning area involving the City and the County is seriously considered.

Over the next six months or so there will be a series of meetings with different groups as the Madison ordinance is reviewed and reworked leading to approval of an ordinance sometime next Summer.
